BALCH SPRINGS – A Balch Springs Animal Control worker has become designed into leave after officials say she neglected to talk to a resident before euthanizing his dog.
Divya, a one-year old healthy Labrador retriever, was place down a few weeks ago.
Brian McGowan said his pet managed to flee from your backyard anf the husband spent weeks interested in her.
“I occurred towards the shelter twice, my girlfriend occurred there twice,” McGowan said. “I called once or twice, left messages to make sure they had my correct telephone number.”
The Balch Springs Animal Control shelter is when McGowan had adopted the yellow Lab a year ago.
Divya was registered with all the shelter, and McGowan says the agency needs to have had every one of his contact info.
Balch Springs Police Chief Ed Morris said an employee made an effort to call McGowan, but reached an inappropriate number… and do not took it any longer.
“It appears that based upon human error we didn’t enjoy this, it’s and try to contact the owners,” Morris said.
Divya was euthanized 7 days after she was discovered by the animal control workers.
On that quick, McGowan coincidentally named the shelter and asked should they had found her. An employee misled him and declared your new puppy have been found, but was utilized over to another family.
Hours later, he was called again and found Divya was euthanized.
“I felt angry, betrayed… the many phone calls that we made… it wasn’t right,” McGowan said.
City officials are experiencing trouble explaining whole body, or why their employee later misled Divya’s owner.
“I can only speculate that you’ve a fear factor, they made an error, and seeking in order to safeguard themselves in the long term,” Morris said.
The shelter has offered him another dog totally free, although the Balch Springs man says that only shows the location carries on not see the problem.
