A lot of people don’t give consideration when opportunity knocks. Tanya Lorie paid full attention, turning a smallish opportunity into a big accomplishment.

Although Lorie comes with an intellectual disability; she recently received her Level One certificate in the B-Pro grooming your dog Academy which is now working at Fancy Furs grooming your dog groomer news.

Lorie was presented with the opportunity attend B-Pro by Alliance Personnel, a division of Brampton Caledon Community Living, a government supported agency that aims to help individuals with intellectual disabilities lead fulfilling and enriched lives.

“There’s a stigma around those individuals with intellectual disabilities isn’t competent at regular employment as well as other issues with normal life,” said Sharon Lonnie of Alliance Personnel. “A lot of times it’s about giving people the opportunity. If they get that chance, most accept it as the possibility for shine. Tanya’s case is terrific because she decide to take the leap and attend grooming school to cultivate her skills.”

Christine Trajkovski, Lorie’s employer at Fancy Furs, has seen first-hand that any negative perception of an individual with special needs is with the reality groomer news.

“Even though Tanya has exactly who call an intellectual disability, she’s a fantastic worker who catches on anything I teach her immediately,” said Trajkovski.

Lorie’s affinity for grooming a dog grew from her passion for animals and her experiences along with her own dog at your house. She saw attending grooming school like a challenge, but took each obstacle in stride groomer news.

“With me having special needs, I’ve got to continue to work harder than anybody else,” said Lorie. “Fancy Furs really forced me to a whole lot. I’m very thankful to them for giving me a chance.”

Like Lorie, her mom, Tatiana Lorie, is grateful! For Tanya’s opportunities.

“Everybody needs to take steps useful for life,” said Tatiana. “I’m sure there are many parents of babies with special needs who get to an argument where they don’t determine what to do- but Brampton Caledon Community living has done a lot to help individuals with special needs and parents move ahead, helping them accomplish things utilized to.”

Barb Hodgkin son, who owns B-Pro grooming a dog Academy, echoes the sentiment those individuals with special needs, should obtain a chance to contribute by any means they’re able society.

“A great deal of people quit easily for this band of society, but I’d take 20 of Tania any day. She’s very artistic and articulate, and always incorporates a smile to be with her face. She’s a proper sweetheart, I’m very satisfied with her,” said Hodgkin son.

Tatiana doesn’t see Tanya’s employment because only reward for carrying on school.

“The fact she didn’t realize she could accomplish so much but did, is a plus. It’s given her enable you to see she can accomplish things by herself,” said Tatiana.
